Specialty Manager (Oncology)

  4. Close Functionally Links: HR, Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, and Senior Management teams.
  5. Purpose of the Position:

The Specialty Manager (Oncology) is responsible for driving the growth and positioning of the company’s oncology and anticancer portfolio. The role combines sales achievement, scientific engagement, and territory management to ensure that oncology products are effectively promoted, available, and trusted by healthcare specialists. The manager acts as a bridge between the company and oncology stakeholders, ensuring compliance with ethical standards while contributing to business development and patient‑centric outcomes.

6.      Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

6A. Sales & Business Development

  • Promote and position oncology products to medical oncologists, haematologists, and cancer‑care specialists
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the oncology portfolio
  • Identify new business opportunities, accounts, and prescribers to expand market presence
  • Ensure product availability and implement demand‑generation initiatives across target institutions

6B. Scientific Engagement & Product Promotion

  • Deliver accurate, approved scientific information and clinical data to healthcare professionals
  • Conduct product detailing, scientific discussions, and presentations tailored to oncology practice
  • Organize CMEs, round‑table meetings, and oncology‑focused scientific sessions
  • Collaborate with the medical team to integrate latest oncology evidence into promotional activities

6C. Territory & Account Management

  • Develop and execute territory strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Conduct regular visits to hospitals, cancer institutes, and oncology clinics
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and institutional stakeholders
  • Coordinate with distribution and supply chain teams to ensure uninterrupted product availability

6D. Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate daily call reports, doctor engagements, and sales activity logs
  • Track competitor activities and provide market intelligence to relevant teams
  • Ensure all promotional activities comply with company SOPs, compliance guidelines, and ethical standards
  • Adhere to pharmacovigilance and reporting requirements in oncology
  1. Required Qualification and Competencies

7A: Technical & Functional

  • B‑Pharmacy or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in oncology sales with reputed national or international companies
  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales, business development and customer relationship management
  • Knowledge of oncology products, treatment protocols, and clinical practices
  • Ability to interpret and communicate scientific data credibly
  • Strong territory planning and ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Strong business planning, organization, and management skills
